Mentalix Fed Submit Live Scan System Enables North Texas Police to Identify Suspect in 15-Year-Old Murder Case

Two North Texas police departments that utilize Plano-based Mentalix, Inc.’s live scan systems captured a murder suspect by checking his identity with the Mentalix Fed Submit live scan system. In March, Lewisville police officers stopped the suspect, Danny Elenilson Osorio, for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and he gave a false name and birth date. Osorio was arrested and booked at the Lewisville jail, where he was fingerprinted on the Mentalix Fed Submit live scan system. Within seconds, the live scan system matched his fingerprints to his true identity – as well as a 15-year-old warrant for a murder offense in Carrollton. Osorio is the last of four suspects to be charged in the 1997 murder of Scott Beitinger. The three other persons involved in the murder had previously been arrested and convicted. Osorio is believed to have fled to Mexico following the murder and was unable to be found. At some point, Osorio returned to Texas and has been working at a ranch near Lancaster.  Read the full press release here.
